It reaches an office clerk who has never met you, who is holding a register with your name in it, and who has just been told the name is wrong but not what it should be. Nothing can be done with it.<\/p>\n<p>So the rule is: write both versions in full, in quotation marks, in the same sentence. &quot;Recorded as X, whereas my correct name is Y.&quot; Then say where the correct version comes from, and attach it. A correction request is not a complaint. You do not know how the error entered the register, and saying &quot;the office staff wrote it carelessly&quot; turns a routine administrative request into an accusation against a named department in a document you are handing to that department.<\/p>\n<p>The correct posture is neutral: the record says one thing, the birth certificate says another, please align them. If you genuinely know the cause and it was your own error at admission, one plain sentence covers it, as in the model above. That is all it is marked on, and the model above is a complete answer to it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The real-world correction is a separate process, and the school is not the last step.<\/strong> In Bangladesh, once a certificate has been issued by an education board, the board runs its own name and age correction procedure, which is handled through the board&#39;s own channels rather than through the school alone. At the time of writing, the education boards publish their own name and age correction pages describing what is required, and the requirements commonly include an affidavit, a notice in a newspaper, and supporting identity documents, with the exact list and the exact online portal differing from one board to another.<\/p>\n<p>Because the requirements differ by board and change over time, this page does not reproduce them. If you actually need a certificate corrected, check the official site of your own education board rather than relying on any model answer, including this one.
